Dumplin by Julie Murphy

31KXjxoPGaL._SX327_BO1,204,203,200_  My review:This is a perfect read for any teenager/young adult. I met Julie Murphy at the RT Convention in Las Vegas, what a lovely young lady, so gracious and kind. This novel is all about Willowdean” aka: Dumplin, her mom runs the local beauty contest, her favorite aunt, Lucy, huge fan of Dolly Parton, has just passed away, and Dumplin is having a hard time letting go.
This novel is about self confidence, being comfortable in your own skin and accepting yourself for who you are.
Dumplin is like most teenagers, she likes to hang out with her best friend, is always angry at her
mom for some reason or the other, she gets her very first fall in love crush, Dumplin is a special girl
though, she takes up for the underdog, she does not like to see people being made fun of. Dumplin
is a very self confident young lady and decides to become a contestant in the local beauty contest.
This is the lead in to lots of happenings. This novel is a great read, I loved Dumplin’s character, she is funny, humble, sarcastic, and loyal. She just wants people to accept her the way she accepts herself.
If you enjoy humor, humbleness, kindness, family, love and acceptance.

Let me know what you think.
