Thank you to author for sending me this novel to read and review.
What a great story! I loved the characters, I loved the premise of the entire novel. The writing
was good. Imagine as a young girl visiting a fortune teller and she tells your best friend that she will not love long, and tells you that everyone you love will be gone, that you will live your life alone.
Magdalena has lived her life in fear that is true, she’s lost many loved ones. But relaxes a little and
then something horrible happens. I felt so sad for her, I could not imagine going through what
she did. How would you survive?
She decides to move back to her grandparents home and fix it up, she slowly begins to live again,
she makes a few new friends, get herself a horse and begins to heal.
This novel was a great surprise, I never expected the ending at all, it was fantastic! If you love family drama, pain, friendship, new beginnings, and a shocking end, you will love this novel.

Maggie Dove by Susan Breen:

This is the story of Maggie, a blocked mystery writer, a Sunday school teacher who lost her only
20 years ago. She’s a brooding woman, with not much happiness, she doesn’t to be fond of to many
people. I liked the authors way of introducing all the characters, her writing style was good.
I did figure out who the culprit was, I did think the story dragged on in parts. It was very wordy in
sections of the novel.
If you like brooding characters, a good old fashioned mystery , you will enjoy this one. There is a small town, some great descriptions, a good mystery, some religious references throughout this novel.

Thanks to GOODREADS for the chance to read and review: Flight Patterns by Karen White.

I am giving 5 stars to this novel, I am a huge fan of Karen White’s novel, she is one of my favorite southern writers. I love her writing style, her character development is outstanding. The setting for  her novels are always spot on.
This is about a family full of secrets. This is the story of Birdie, and her two daughters, Georgia and Maisy and Maisy’s daughter, Becky. I loved all these characters, Georgia is so protective of herself, Maisy is full of love and rage, Birdie is full of secrets that she cannot remember, and Becky is the connection they all need to heal.
There is a mystery surrounding this entire family, with ties to long ago war time. Georgia is hired by James to find out about a rare china pattern, that she is sure she has seen in her mother’s things. She heads back to her home town, a place she has not been back to for 13 years. Things are very complicated.
I enjoyed all the history, also the information about bee keeping. I enjoyed getting to know each and every character in this novel.
There is everything in this novel, mystery, family drama, southern charm, tender, secrets, homicide, protection, forgiveness, a great love story, new beginnings and new love.
Thank you GOODREADS and PENGUIN RANDOM HOUSE for this wonderful novel. I loved every minute of it.

brother, Charles, who is deaf and blind, he lives in a home, sent there by his parents, Charles is kept
a secret , a secret that Julianna finds out about, she spends time with him, trying to make up for
her parents. Thanks to NETGALLEY and LAKE UNIION PUBLISHING for the chance to read and give an

Kyle is helping his dad run his lawn care business, Julianna sees Kyle talking and visiting with her
brother, he is so caring and kind. She feels an immediate attraction to him. Kyle is studying to
become a priest, and having a relationship with Julianna is out of the question. They gradually begin
to fall in love.
The love story of these two is heartwarming and heart-wrenching at times. You grow to love
these characters, they are good, solid, family driven people. The author tells their stories, weaving the past with the future. I loved the character of Julianna, although I didn’t always agree with her decisions, she is a true person, with convictions, she’s a good friend, a good sister, a good
daughter, an altogether good person.
I also love Kyle’s character, he is kind hearted, talented, honest, hardworking, loyal and an
altogether good person.
I like how the author took you into another time, going from the past to the present. I read way into the night, I was worried for Julianna and Kyle, life had kicked them both around a bit. I was really sad that this novel ended, I grew very attached to these characters and their stories.
This novel has it all: family drama, history, friendship, sadness, beginnings and endings, loyalty,
forgiveness, but most of all, love and happy endings. This is a great debut novel, and I look forward to her next novel. (less)

Written by: Sarah T. Hobart, A Home Sweet Home Mystery.
This is a great cozy mystery, I gave it three stars, I did feel the story dragged in some parts, I still
enjoyed the mystery surrounding 13 Aster Lane.
Sam Turner is the main character, she is a single mom to Max, she’s new to selling real
estate. Sam gets what she believes is going to jump start her entire career, give her the money
she needs to purchase a home for her and Max. However, due to some unforeseen incidents in her
new House For Sale, Sam stumbles onto more than she bargained for. It seems the old
Victorian House at 13 Aster Lane is haunted. There are numerous mishaps that happen to Sam,
but she jumps right in, she’s brave, she’s noisy, she’s curious, she never gives up. She’s also an
accident waiting to happen.
This novel is full of quirky characters, a great mystery , many lovable neighbors and many unlovable , loads of mishaps and mayhem. You will find yourself rooting for Sam and wanting things to work out for her and her son Max.
