I would like to thank  Michelle Halket  from Central Avenue Publishing for  allowing me to read and give an honest review. I loved this little book, its such a happy, sweet, encouraging little book. Each sentence begins  with “I hope”.  Some are “I hope your path  intersects with others” another one is ” I hope crickets chirp as the sun sets”. I loved all of the “I hopes” , there are 300 total.  I love all the quaint illustrations, they are perfect with all the ” I hopes”.

This is a book you will keep on your bedside stand and pick up every now and then, because it will never lose its charm, a book that you will purchase for friends, family, co-workers, its an all around cheer me up type book. What a great idea.

Thanks so much for allowing me to read and review.

I have never read any novels written by Santa Montefiore, but after reading and enjoying this novel
so much . I will be picking up the rest. Her writing style is good, I read the 1st chapter and I was
hooked. I love historical fiction and this was perfect.
This is the story of a family , The Deverill’s , the family is intertwined with other families, The Doyle’s, The O’Leary’s and all of their many friends. they live in a castle, they throw lavish parties, people come from miles away for the parties. The history between the different families is complicated, some good and some bad.
The characters are well developed, I love the characters of Kitty and Grace, Adeline, and Cecila, they are strong willed and strong minded. They all four stand tall and proud of who they are and what they believe in, even though society does not always accept what choices they make. And Birdie, who is a servant girl, she is Kitty’s bestfriend, she finally comes into her own. There are the sisters of Maud(Kitty’s mother), The Shrubs, Hazel and Laurel, this novel is full of great characters.
Then there are other characters like Jack, Harry, Kitty’s sisters, her mother and her father, grandparents and lets not forget the ghost of the castle, who make their appearances known to only a few, the ghost are there because of a curse.
This novel has everything you want in a historical novel, there’s history, ghostly figures, Irish
folklore, a huge family with lots of drama, sisters, brothers, wartime, broken hearts, strong
friendships, redemption, revenge, forgiveness, new beginnings, and love. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I am anxious to see where the author takes the men and woman in the story.
Thank you, Santa Montefiore and Edelweiss for allowing me read and review, this novel was
fantastic!

The Life She Wants:

I have enjoyed reading Robyn Carr’s novel’s for many years, and have enjoyed them all, some more than others, but enjoying them all for one reason or another. Her character development is good,
her writing style allows you to become invested in the characters. This is Robyn Carr at her best, you love her characters, you want the best for them, you hurt when they hurt, you root for them.
This is the story of Emma Shay, her broken heart starts much earlier, her mother passes, her father remarries and she turns out to be the wicked stepmother, she loses her father, then she loses her best friend, then her boyfriend. She meets a man, Richard, who she thinks is her happy ending.
It doesn’t turn out that way. Emma has a rude awakening. She has to return home and find a place to live, get a job, start fresh. She has nothing left, just a friend. She’s strong, she works hard to start a new life, she renews friendships, ask forgiveness and begin new.
If you love true woman, new beginnings, forgiveness, old friendships, new love you will love this novel.
