Thank you NETGALLEY and AMANDA PROWSE for allowing me to read and give an honest review.
This was a touching novel, it will tear at your heart, everyone knows how hard it is to live you life, make good decision’s, top this with having to make these life decisions because you have no choice but to pick up the pieces and get on with your life.
Nina has the perfect life, a wonderful family, husband, children, then the unthinkable happen, her husband is killed, now all of the sudden she’s a widow, with two children to raise on her own. She has no job, no college education. Little does she know, buts she’s also broke , her husband was not so honest with her. There are layers to this novel. Some good decisions and some bad decisions. But Nina learns to rely on herself. She keeps her family together.
My words to describe this novel are: Well-written, heartfelt, sad, emotional, thought provoking, moving, uplifting, reflective, love, family, and new beginnings. The author wrote with loving care, good character development.
Thank you NETGALLEY! (less)

What’s on your weekend reading list?
This was a GOODREADS win for me, so thanks to GOODREADS and D.M. Quincy for allowing me to read and give an honest review.
This was a perfect afternoon read, the writing is good, the author does a great job introducing you to all the characters, the author also gets you involved with the mystery.
Atlas Catesby buys Lillian from her husband, he is selling her right in the streets, Atlas is
appalled-how can a man treat his wife this way.
Atlas is an adventurer, he loves to travel, have adventures, he is a solitary man, he is also a lover of puzzles and mysteries. He takes Lillian to stay with his sister, then her husband is murdered, then they all find out that the husband was not such a nice person.
The mystery is on: who murdered Lillian’s husband, what’s going to happen to Lillian and her children? So many questions, so many people involved, who done it? This is a great cozy, the time period is perfect, great characters, great story, I am looking forward to next book in the series.
Thanks to NETGALLEY and DEBBIE MACOMBER for allowing me to read and give an honest review.
Debbie Macomber’s novels are so heartwarming, they are sweet, heartbreaking, great characters, joy, love, lost, but always a good ending. I loved the character of Shay, she’s a fighter, she has been through so much in her life, deep down she expects the worse, but I think she keeps hoping for the best.
When her mother passed away, she felt responsible for her brother Caden, who is always on a down hill cycle. He talks her into doing something she knows she shouldn’t, but for her brother, she will do it. Shay gets caught and goes to jail, her brother just walks away and lets her take the punishment.
Shay comes out of jail a hard and bitter person, she has a huge chip on her shoulder, she also feels that she deserves to be this way. She is homeless, and has no place to go, so she comes upon a church and decides to go in. This turns out to be the best decision she has ever made. She meets Pastor Drew, he is a wounded man, his wife has died and he is having a hard time moving on, his life is church and his children. These two lonely people are drawn together, of course love is never an easy path and they both will have to fight their own demons, but they become friends, and as the story progresses they become more. There are many hurdles for them to jump, surprises along the way, bad things happen, but they stick it out with each other.
This novel is very touching, its full of hope, dreams, forgiveness, will power, love, but mostly new beginnings. How can you not love that!
